Personal Boundaries First, Personal Branding Second
Before you start working on your personal brand, the first thing you need to do is work out your personal boundaries.
The pressure to share content that cuts through is stronger than ever, even LinkedIn is seeing a greater push for personal stories that will only increase as video gains more traction. Write a list of no go areas and extend this to staff, partners and family.
Once it’s posted, it’s out there and if it’s not contributing to your personal brand image what is it there for?
Content needs to be intentional and even if it’s on the fly, you need to consider how it feeds into your overall branding strategy.
You can find ways to connect on a human level without sacrificing your privacy that you also feel comfortable with – that is the secret to authentic content anyway!
