You don’t need to abandon Instagram to concentrate on LinkedIn

Everyone is jumping on the LinkedIn bandwagon this year and I’m so excited for it. LinkedIn has been a key platform in client strategies for a long time now but I often get a bit of push back from clients – especially if they have a day job and their business is currently a side hustle. I’m glad that people are seeing the value in the platform, especially for B2B and business owners.

Something that has been coming up for clients is the need to create content for another platform – in particular, how are they going to manage maintaining Instagram and LinkedIn (along with email newsletters, podcasts, Substack’s etc.) Repurposing where you can is always a great step but if you want to dial down on Instagram this year but maintain a presence I have a few ways you can do this.

1.      The 9-post grid – this is where you archive your feed and treat the profile more like a website with a series of posts that outline what you do and direct people to a landing page, website, other platform etc.

2.      Pinned post approach – this is what I’ll be doing. Three pinned carousels that outline key offerings and information. I’ll be pairing this with regular stories, outbound engagement, educational reels and behind the scenes content.

3.      Use Instagram as a place to repost content from LinkedIn, your blogs, articles etc. and redirect out to your other platforms or sites.

What are you plans for Instagram and LinkedIn this year?
