Tips for becoming a follower favourite

Tips for becoming a follower favourite

Now that our followers have the option to add selected accounts to favourites, it’s time to start thinking about what makes your account stand out.

What are people coming to you for? What value do you offer?

The person behind the brand is more important than ever as Instagram rolls out update after update. But don’t panic - hanging out and having long winded chats on stories everyday is not the only way to show off your vision, culture, personality and brand identity.

Connecting with your audience, showing what drives your business will require dipping into the personal. But, as I always say, define your boundaries and stick with them. You can show the person behind the brand without deep, dark confessionals. There’s a reason we watch videos of people making their morning coffee or trying on outfits - we connect and identify with the human element. Write a list of what you are willing to share about you and your business and adjust your content.

Good ways of connecting include using the question sticker in stories, doing a day in the life reel or sharing the story of why and how you started your business. It’s time to start thinking about how you can be an account that your audience doesn’t want to miss out on when they are flooded with the new options. And importantly, prompt them to add you to favourites with a CTA.
