How to improve engagement on Instagram stories
Instagram Stories serve two main purposes in terms of marketing awareness.
Stories are the place you want to nurture your current audience.
Stories form your highlights for those perusing your profile and act as a mini catalogue of who you are and what you offer.
To get the most out of stories and more engagement for your efforts you need to consider user experience.
Type out an overview or a caption on your face to camera posts (especially if they are more than a single slide!) - lots of people watch on silent AND many tap through when they see a talking head and don’t want to wait for the captions to roll out. (I totally do!)
Use a Call To Action (CTA) where you prompt your audience on what to do next - ask a question, use a link, question box or poll. There needs to be some kind of instruction. Know what the purpose of your post is and the action you want people to take at the end - and then tell them!
Don’t be afraid to drop the curated and perfect - stories are more raw, spur of the moment and the idea is to be SOCIAL - have a conversation rather than pretending your giving a presentation!
